Virande stone

The stone “pierre virade” or virande – from peyra virande in the tongue of oc – is on the maps between la Chapelle Saint Robert and les Chenauds.

The monolith is a ferruginous rock, at least 2 metres high, located in the wood near a hiking path called “boucle de la pierre virade”. It cannot be seen from the path, because it is on a secondary section about 50 metres away behind the trees. Coming from the hamlet les Chenauds open your eyes just before the place where the hiking trail descends into a valley. The stone is on the right.
